About Green Primary School

Green Primary School serves Preschool through Grade 1 students in the Green Local School District.


Kindergarten Program

  • Eligibility:
    Students must be 5 years old by August 1 of the school year and reside within the City of Green.
    (Proof of residency is required.)

  • Program Details:
    All Kindergarten students attend full-day kindergarten, as required by the Ohio Department of Education.

  • Curriculum Includes:
    Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Library, Music, and Physical Education.

  • Instructional Approach:
    Teachers are Ohio Department of Education-certified and design engaging, developmentally-appropriate lessons.
    Ongoing assessments help teachers meet students at their current learning level and guide their growth.

  • Family Involvement:
    We value strong home-school connections and encourage parent engagement through our active PTA (Parent-Teacher Association), which offers many opportunities to get involved.

  • Transportation:
    Green Local Schools Transportation services are available to all Kindergarten students.


Developmental Early Childhood Preschool Program

  • Who Qualifies:

    • Free of charge: Children ages 3-5 with a disability in one or more developmental areas.

    • Tuition-based enrollment: Typically-developing preschoolers who live within the City of Green.

  • Tuition:

    • Annual Tuition: $1,935

    • Monthly Payment Option: $215 per month via the EZ Pay online system.

    • Two-Payment Option:

      • $1,000 due by the second week of August

      • $800 due by the second week of January
        (Two-payment option payable by cash or check.)

  • Schedule:
    Preschool is held Monday through Thursday, with students attending either a morning session or an afternoon session, determined by residential location within Green.

  • Classroom Details:

    • Class sizes: Approximately 12-16 students per class (up to 8 typically-developing students per class)

    • Each classroom has a licensed teacher (Early Childhood and Special Education) and at least one educational aide.

  • Transportation:
    All preschool students may use Green Local Schools Transportation services.

  • Enrollment for Typically-Developing Preschoolers:

    • Age Requirement: Must be 3 years old by August 1 of the upcoming school year.

    • Process:

    • Slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis starting in March.

    • Preschool screenings (a "play-date" style assessment) are scheduled in February for early applicants, with additional screenings scheduled as needed for late applicants.

  • Preschool Health Documents:
    Once accepted, families must complete all Preschool Student Health Documents before the start of the school year.

If you have a child who has currently been diagnosed with a developmental delay or you suspect a developmental delay (must be 3 years of age), please contact the school office by calling 330-896-7474 to speak with either a Speech and Language Pathologist or the School Psychologist to begin the referral or evaluation process.
